A message from J. Robin Mears

I have had the special privilege of serving the Alabama Christian Education Association for 36 years. My goal is to focus on the needs of the young people in our schools. If we are to justify our existence, making a difference in their lives is essential.
My heroes and heroines are parents who have chosen to send their children to a Christian school and dedicated teachers who give of themselves to teach the children. I am humbled when I think of these enormously special people.
In recent years I have been more aware of the responsibility to do my part to improve Christian schools and to perpetuate the Christian school movement. It is my desire that every parent who truly wants their child to attend a Christian school have that opportunity. I have worked diligently and tirelessly to get school choice laws passed that can appropriately accommodate Christian schools and parents. The opportunity for a parent to have access to funds up to $7,000 per child to pay the cost of sending their child to a Christian school is now a reality under the Creating Hope and Opportunity for Our Students' Education Act passed by the 2024 Alabama Legislature. Starting in 2027 this opportunity will be offered to every child in Alabama!
The challenges are great, but so are the rewards. Let’s keep it simple. Our job is to provide genuine Christian training to the children in our care. That is our job – let us do it well.
